Meet Millie

she/her

As a birth doula, I bring a grounding, compassionate presence rooted in over a decade of experience supporting families. With a background in mental health and a wide range of experience including nannying, coaching, tutoring, and many summers as a camp counselor, I offer a calm, steady hand and a warm, encouraging spirit throughout your birth journey. Whether you need someone to help you discuss your options, advocate for your needs, or simply stay grounded with you in the moment, I’m here to encourage, empower, and ensure you feel informed, heard, and supported at every stage.

I welcome and celebrate the full range of identities and experiences folks bring into pregnancy and birth. I have a particularly special place in my heart for fellow members of the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities. Whatever form your family may take, I look forward to offering you compassionate, down-to-earth practical and emotional support.

Trainings & Education

  • I am bilingual and able to provide doula support in both Spanish and English.

  • As part of my practice, I support births in hospitals, birth centers, and—when joined by a medical provider—in your home.

  • In addition to supporting clients throughout birth and the postpartum period, I also offer support for clients who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, as well as those who are seeking out abortions, regardless of whether those abortions are by choice, medically necessary, and/or complicated decisions.

  • Trainings

    • May 2025: Cornerstone Birthwork Training — Labor, Birth, and Postpartum Birthworker Combo Training + Fetal Positioning Workshop

    • June 2025: Troop (Formerly Seattle Doulas) — Seattle Doulas University Postpartum Training

    • November 2025: Certified Labor and Postpartum Doula Training from Birth & Baby University

    • *I am also certified in CPR for infants and adults through the American Red Cross, and update this certification every two years.

  • Education

    • May 2021: University of Sioux Falls — Bachelors Degree, Spanish and Religious Studies

“[T]he human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.”

SisterSong Definition of Reproductive Justice

  • I love to crochet, and have been known to make hats for the newborns in my life.

  • Much of my down time is spent cuddled up with my cats, Alan and Eugene Levy (Jeanie, for short), as well as my soon-to-be wife.

  • I grew up in Minnesota and feel most at home near a lake. Now that I call Chicago home, walks along Lake Michigan are one of my life’s great joys.

  • Any outdoor adventure is an adventure I want to be on.

  • I spent a year in a mental health counseling program before pivoting to full-time doula work. I bring a deep understanding of the interplay between mental and physical well-being to my role as a doula.

  • And finally, as the oldest of nearly thirty cousins, I have had a baby in my arms since I was practically one myself (Exhibit A, B, and C to the left).
